Principal's Message
Dear P.S. 58 Families,
Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year!
A new school year brings new opportunities for our children to learn, grow, and discover just how much they are capable of achieving.
This year, our theme is:
JUST DO THE WORK.
These four words remind us that success comes from effort, persistence, responsibility, and a commitment to doing our best—even when the work is challenging.
This year also begins our journey across the Bridge to Brilliance.
A bridge connects where we are to where we aspire to be. At P.S. 58, our goal is to help every child cross that bridge by developing the knowledge, confidence, resilience, and independence they need to succeed.
Our teachers will provide rigorous instruction, meaningful support, and opportunities for students to think, reason, discuss, problem-solve, and take greater responsibility for their learning. When students need additional support, we will provide it; when they are ready for greater challenges, we will challenge them.
Families Are an Important Part of the Bridge. We need your partnership. Please help us by ensuring your child attends school every day, arrives on time, completes assignments, reads and practices at home, and comes prepared to learn. Talk with your child about what they are learning and stay connected with their teachers.
When school, home, and students work together, we create the conditions for every child to succeed.
Welcome to another exciting year at P.S. 58 and the beginning of our journey across the Bridge to Brilliance.
Let’s build the bridge. Let’s inspire brilliance. And above all... JUST DO THE WORK.
With pride and partnership,
Dr. LaRhonda Civers
Principal
